Guest guest
Hey Eileen: It's very hard for me. I'm a terrible planner aheader. I wind up eating omelets most of the time or tuna out of the can. When I do cook, I cook a lot and eat it for several days for lunch at work. I don't make anything with nut flours. I need to get back into cooking but I've been really tired lately. Normal Day: 3 egg with cheese omelet cooked in butter or coconut oil some type of leftover for lunch or i'll go to serops, i've talked with the kitchen staff and know exactly what to order to meet my dietary needs and so far so good but that does get expensive. serops is greek and lebanese dinner is whatever i feel like cooking, leftovers or an omelet. I go through phases where I don't want to cook and that's what I'm in now. Usually, I'm much better at this. Until I get my dehydrator, I'm not even making yogurt. Once I get it though, I have some big plans for portobello pizzas and some other wonderful sounding things Stacey has posted in the past on our other groups. Misty I'm wondering how you people who can't be home cooking all day do it???? Eileen 20 months scd

Guest guest
I think I've found that since I went vegetarian I actually spend less time in the kitchen. I do what I'm sure most people do here - lunch is almost always leftovers from dinner the night before. That right there is a huge time saver. If I eat out (at the one restaurant where I've talked many many times with the chefs) I'll often get a second order to take home for lunch the next day. Brekkie used to be a green smoothie every morning (super quick but I haven't been hungry lately so it's just been a couple dates). Occasionally I'll have a cereal craving so I'll make a big SCD cake (that is okay but not a cake I really enjoy *as* a cake) with less honey than usual, let it cool then break it up into lots of little pieces and dehydrate so that it looks kind of like grapenuts (and then eat with almond milk - " cereal " lasts a long time). I find that my cravings come in waves so making big batches of food at one time and then having it for many meals through the day works great. I do fruit or cheese for snacks (need to cut back on the latter!!) and then for dinner?...my meals are pretty simple lately. Salad filled with lots of veggies and maybe some beans, avocado and parm is really satisfying or some kind of baked veggies (garlicky butternut squash, stuffed peppers, grilled portabello mushrooms...etc). I don't really plan ahead all that much. In the beginning I DEFINITELY needed to plan (I really didn't know how to cook) but now I just stop at the store on the way home from work and decide what I'm interested in eating and buy the ingredients for it. I'm sure it helps that I'm only cooking for myself. Super kudos to the people here who cook for whole families! Guest guest
it ain't easy with 6 diets here -but i think right now it's easier than me figuring how to do enough SCD for everyone - just overwhelming to think of - I just made my littlest 100 % scd yesterday going well -not doing stages, but just removing the few things that weren't scd - easiest to start with - LOL but enough food to switch everyone over - exhausting thinking of it - but they will be more advanced and they're 85-90 % there anyway just because that's what I had them used to so it MAY not be too much torture - LOL thanks Eileen > > > > I'm at home and now that school has started I feel stressed for cooking time > > -only can cook ,run errands and do everything else between 9-3 -I mass produce > > cook and it's only for me (which I hope to make for all of us someday - but > > can't phatom how if I can brealy do it for me - feel like I can't get ahead - i > > think I'm lacking organization - I had a good plan then went no yeast SCD and > > each time I add something I screw up my cooking plan and I'm wondering how you > > people who can't be home cooking all day do it???? > > THanks >
