Guest guest Posted April 27, 2001 Report Share Posted April 27, 2001 Well, Barbi sounds much better today. They took her off the morphine pump and she is receiving injections every 6 hours as needed. They repeated the leak test today and the radiographer said everything looked better. And she did not throw up. She passed gas this afternoon, too. So, her bowels are waking up. She had a nice phone conversation with Jane today and plans to go see her tomorrow or vice versa. Jane is having a text book recovery. Barbi plans to ask Jane tomorrow if she wants me to give an update to the group or if she is just going to post her own good news Sunday when she gets out of the hospital. Barbi is moving around really good and taking lots of walks. Her mom, Jean is staying around for a few days after Barbi gets out of the hospital, so at least they will get some quality time together without nurses and residents all around. Dr Ren is going on a much needed vacation leaving her chief resident in charge. Barbie is doing good enough so that Dr Ren can take a break now. The resident that yelled at Barbi yesterday could not even pick his eyes off the floor today. I guess the chief resident straightened his hair for him a little. All in all Barbie is doing very well. She is in no way ready to come home though. She is about 2 days behind in the recovery process. Once she is started on liquids and then mushy foods, her energy will be much better.
