Guest guest
, that's great!! *grins* What kind of chewable vitamin and chewable calcium do you take ? Do they taste okay, or are they bitter/too sweet ? I must say, even when I was skinny those bike seats used to hurt after a while, so I don't know if biking will be one of my activities after I'm post op! *grins* Keep us posted, it's always great for us pre-ops to hear about those things you can do again or never would have thought of doing before WLS! Every time I drink something I get this " heavy " feeling almost like gas but I don't know what I could have drank to make me feel that way all day. Hopefully better tomorrow. Guest guest
Good luck to you, Angel! I just found out from Cigna that I finally have an inventory # and they'll be calling me to let me know the current status of my " quest. Guest guest
Great to hear is doing better. I have been there with Janelle and the vomit/fever/dehydration thing and they do look bad when it happens. I am glad you all kept pressing the issue and got him to the ER. -- Jovanovich ****Please note - our NEW e-mail address laura@... He went to the ped today and weighed in at 19-4 which was a little bit of a loss. He's a little lethargic and has a low fever. Oh I hope it goes away soon. " Tuesday night, vomited again and we became worried due to the RSS and because he had horrible diarrhea all day. Given the fact he has no storage reserves to burn off of, we were worried he was dehydrated and might start to burn off his muscle mass...his face was starting to look like a skeleton covered with skin. We ended up calling the peds office and still weren't sure what to do. Would he be okay for another 10 - 12 hours until the peds office opened the next morning or would he have problems due to waiting so long if he was dehydrated? We called Kaiser's advice line and the nurse said she couldn't officially help us due to our plan, but told us that her opinion was to call our peds again because someone needed to see him in in the next few hours. We called the peds again and after speaking with the Dr. we felt we needed to take him to the emergency room. They did some blood work and found 's electrolytes were 'all over the place' and he was dehydrated. has been in the hospital with the past two nights. I saw him last night and he had his little cheeks back . He still isn't eating much and I'm not sure he'll come home tonight but at least he's getting better. They want him to be able to eat and keep it in before they release him. Bob, dad to (31/2), (23 months and RSS), and (8 months).
Guest guest
Hi Debby:-) If you have a sinus decongestant take one of those because a lot of pain in upper teeth that is also in your face could be sinus pressure too. I hope you get out of pain soon. It is always so hard to live with. -- Jovanovich ****Please note - our NEW e-mail address laura@... Resent-Date: Fri, 7 Mar 2003 20:20:52 -0600 OK now I've caught up on the emails I'll tell you all about the week. Recall Tuesday night was Adam's sleep study. Well the weather people were forecasting a huge snowstorm that night (they were right, we got 20 cm). Adam was quite cooperative about falling asleep this time and was out by 9:30 As you guys know I have the herniated disk and my back did not like the cot. On top of that, when I called and asked about blankets, and they said they had them........I forgot to ask (didn't think I needed to!!!!!) what do you call a blanket?? Ended up being a top sheet made of flannel. BIG DEAL. Thankfully I had brought this super warm blanket I have that folds up to look like a dish towel. However, I unexpectedly had to go to the dentist during the day on Tuesday. I was in agony.....horrible pain. Found out I had 3 teeth with fractures in them (probably the result of gnashing my teeth at the principal LOL.......no seriously, probably grinding/clenching from the pain in my back ). About 1 a.m. during the sleep study the technician came into the room to fix a wire that had come undone on Adam. I, of course, immediately jumped up (did so most of the night every time he stirred) and the tech. said " Adam is doing well......but you on the other hand, I can't get an accurate sound recording of Adam's breathing because of YOUR snoring. " She went on to say I definitely have sleep apnea as she could hear the loud snores followed by long periods of silence. Well add that to my list of things to check out (guess that's the downside to sleeping alone for 7 years.....no one to complain 'you snore'!!!! LOL) We were woken up at 5:30 a.m. By the time they got the wires etc. off and we got dressed it was 6:30 a.m. The tech said " go downstairs, eat breakfast, then come back to the play room and the doc will come and give you the results around 8:30 " I had already turned on the weather channel and the roads were awful (even at that time). So I asked if anyone from the sleep study clinic would be around at 8:30....she said no. I asked if the doc *could* be delayed by the storm, she didn't know.........so I asked who I could speak to if he WAS late to say I was leaving, she said " no one " . So I said " well just write on my chart that we left now due to the storm and he can call me " . So I drove home in the snowstorm. What an adventure. Still in agony with the teeth. Then I went to see the pain specialist appt. for my back. Yeh yeh, big deal there. He says " well you *shouldn't* still be in this much pain this long into it " . Great another male trying to diminish my feelings!! UGH. So he decides it must be a structural problem I was born with and I should get orthodics bla bla bla. The follow up to that appt. is March 17th. On to the dentist who takes all the fillings out of 2 of the teeth (he decides to do the lower one " next time " ). I was lucky (if you call it that) that I didn't need root cannel. Ok fine, go home totally drained. I got a call (finally) from my union rep. As if I needed to go through the principal issues that night of all nights. But we'd played phone tag for too long. She went nuts....make a long story short she confirmed I am being harassed, it's against all rules and said I needed to get all my documentation together and she would come with me to see the principal's boss to put a stop to this. She was angry!!! I was so exhausted. I still have no results on the sleep study. I will book MY SLEEP STUDY soon as I can get in to see my GP. And I'm off to the dentist TOMORROW because I can't move my mouth. I can't eat or drink anything and live with an ice pack on my face (it's hard to type with it!!! LOL). It appears all 3 teeth are now infected. But I can't handle the screaming pain in my face without any relief. Tylenol 3's (prescription pain killers) don't even take the edge off. The good news is that at least I am now on March Break. I would love to crawl UNDER the bed until the 18th when we go back........but now between the kids and myself we have doctor appts. every day of the March Break. Never rains but it pours.......no no no .....that's not right.....it never snows but it blizzards!!!!! THERE!!! Thanks for listening Debby
Guest guest
Thanks for the suggestion. I started to run (I mean RUN) to my medicine box to get some sinus pills but then thought better of it with all the other meds I am taking........it won't be good. Just about a 1/2 hour ago I decided to *try* to eat a peanut butter sandwich. Nice, soft, moist, white bread. I accidentally bit down on the left side (that's the bad side) and I just screamed! I am not a wiener when it comes to pain.......this was through the roof. So out came the medical book. The symptoms (ie. I can't even touch the tooth without it hurting and other symptoms) is indicative of an abscess tooth. Oh great! Then it says see your dentist immediately....you could get blood poisoning without antibiotics. Well as you can see it's past midnight now, it's across town the all night pharmacy. I can't get there. Geez.....I'll go to the neighbourhood one first thing tomorrow morning and I'll just spend the night hoping my face hasn't fallen off or something by morning! Guest guest
Weird.......I was going to mention to the dentist about the weird taste, but I thought it was just me. Anyway, he had me come in today and before I knew what was happening, I was having a root cannel done. He said I had no pulp left (tooth was dead) and one root is infected. The pain continues..........I didn't check for a white spot.....I couldn't open my mouth to see in anyhow! thanks for the help Debby update > > Resent-From: laura@... > > Resent-To: bugwilder@... > > Resent-Date: Fri, 7 Mar 2003 20:20:52 -0600 > > > > > > OK now I've caught up on the emails I'll tell you all about the week. > > > > Recall Tuesday night was Adam's sleep study.
