Guest guest
I remember you. I have won my fight with Health Alliance Plan only for them to try to send me to a Dr. That only does RNY. Wlater Lindstrom is going to try to get Dr. Hares. Does he charge an additional fee? -- Shelia Ellis Premiere Shetland Sheepdogs and Parrots Champion Shelties, all colors, all testing done http://www.geocities.com/premierepets White Shetland Sheepdog Association http://www.geocities.com/colorheadedwhite

Does he charge an additional fee?------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I am not Kathy (I am her angel though) I believe she has gone no mail as she is going to her daughters house till tuesday. I can answer about Dr Hares though. I am from Michigan and thought how easy it would be for me to go to see Dr Hares instead of traveling so far away for surgery. But alas, he charges a program fee of $4500 up front. He has weekly support group meetings and the $4500 is a lifetime care fee. It covers 4 visits in the first year, etc. Insurance will not cover that fee. Even though it cost me about $2500 to travel to NYC for my surgery (airfare, cabs, food for my DH, and our room at Greenberg hall for 14 days), I did not think it cool to pay that much money out of my pocket for a service I would never use. And it does not matter if you never use it or not, the fee in non-negotiable. Shelia, good luck to you. I know that you have been fighting a long time for this. Maybe you can take out a long or a second mortgage or something to be able to pay the program fee. Other than that, Dr Hares is a fine surgeon.
