Guest guest
Please don't worry about the hiatal hernia. I found out that I had one after getting the results of my Upper GI. It freaked me out because I didn't exactly know what it was and if it would mess up my surgery. On the contrary. Dr. said he would check it out while I was in surgery and do a repair if needed (mine was also small). After surgery he told me he " shaved a little off of it " . Yikes! I actually used to think I had an ulcer and had to eat a lot of Rolaids as a pre-op. Apparently the heartburn was from the hernia. I haven't had a Rolaid since surgery. PLEASE don't fret. It won't affect your surgery in any way - except that it might get fixed at the same time! in IL Dr. Lap DS 2/28/01 -37 pounds as of 4/12 In a message dated 4/20/2001 7:15:58 PM Central Daylight Time, m0neyness@... writes: << Hello All, I had my endoscopy today, and while my Dr. said everything looked fine, he also said I had a very small hiatal hernia. Guest guest
Donna: Rather than causing a problem making the surgery not be done it is a co-morbidity which is a reason for the surgery being done. So this is definitely not a problem. And depending on its configuration it may be able to be fixed during the surgery. Mine just went away on its own after the surgery. Regards.
