Hi All,

Originally in May I was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease. I read about SCD as

encouraged by a Crohn's support group. Got the book, joined this wonderful

group and began the diet on July 28th and all is going as well as it can go, I

suppose. I am still quite tired and fatigued all the time. I had a second

opinion with a new GI and he has placed me through more tests and has determined

that I have Leaky Gut Syndrome. I don't know if this means I do not have

Crohn's as original GI said. His office person called me with the test results

and gave me the following information in which I am purchase these items:

C-Cure 2 per day with breakfast, lunch & dinner

Superdophilus 1 in the AM for the next 6 months

Uva ursi extract 2 twice a day

Does anyone have any experience with any of the above, any illegal stuff going

with these? And where I can I get some good information about Leaky Gut

Snydrome, I know so little about it. I googled it and am getting a lot of

advertisement sites. Any help is appreciated, as always!

Thanks,

Holly O

The principle behind leaky gut is bacterial overgrowth, so being on SCD is aimed

to control this. If someone has IBD, one could reason that they would also have

leaky gut, and a damaged gut is leaky. Whether you also have Chrons, I don't

know.

After reading this, I concluded that SCD is the best approach I know. I'm not

sure about if your supplements are legal or not. The probiotic needs are met by

the SCD yogurt, or legal probiotics. Your GI seems quite open minded. Perhaps he

can help you make his plan work along with SCD guidelines.

Holly, you would have to tell us the brand and what is in these supplements.

C-Cure 2 per day with breakfast, lunch & dinner> Superdophilus 1 in the AM for the next 6 months> Uva ursi extract 2 twice a day

As PJ said, leaky gut or Crohns, you still need scd. Have you read the book a couple times? Type in leaky gut at www.breakingtheviciouscycle.info to read what Elaine says about it. It looks like you have been scd for about 3 weeks so you are really just starting out. Did you do the intro? Your system is just getting started to digest food a different way so it's normal to be tired. Sometimes people get a one month flare that could be coming your way. It would mean that you might get more symptoms instead of feeling better. Most people go back to the intro for a few days until it passes. Katy
