Ok

I have a question following this " time Off " talk.

So im i being ignorant thinking that i can go back to work a week

after

this surgery!!!!!

I am a loan officer in a bank so i have a sit down job. I was told by

my

Dr. that it would be ok because it is not standing or lifting.

Can some one HELP me on this.

I will take all your comments and see what i can do.

Thanks for the help.

YES!! Even if you are having your surgery lap, you are having MAJOR

surgery! I would say tell your boss you expect to be out for at least a

few weeks. Find out what your surgeon recommends. You MIGHT be able to

get back earlier, but might not. You might need to start back just

part-time. The issue is NOT just the mobility, but also the energy

level. Do not be surprised if you need to take naps for the first couple

of weeks. Your body will need time to recover. You might feel just great

for about a week, then suddenly find a drop in energy. Be aware of this,

and make sure to structure some flexibility in your life.

If your supervisor is willing to be flexible, you can be more flexible

about trying to go back earlier. If your boss is NOT flexible, take as

much time as you can! If you feel up to going back earlier, consider

taking some " Miriam " time. You might find that you feel great, then

decide to go grocery shopping, and suddenly all that energy went

bye-bye! That's why I say to structure some flexibility in there. If you

need a nap, you need to take a nap!

Hope that helps!
