Why are all canned veggies including pumpkin illegal on the SCD?

I have several cans of pumpkin and squash - and that's all the ingredient list.

Why are they illegal? Is it something to do with the can? Same question for

tomatoes - buying all those tomatoes alone to make my own sauce is getting

costly.
