Guest guest
Sue, I am not a medical professional so I would consult with the nurse/doctors. I can tell you that I am almost 6 months post op and I have only had one episode with my sugar levels dropping. Before surgery, I took glucophage for diabetes, lysonipril and hydrochlorothiazie for high blood pressure, Lovastatin for high blood pressure, three asthma medications. The day before surgery was the last day I took meds and I have not taken anything since then. What I did post surgery (this just happened a week or two ago by the way and not right after surgery) was to eat a few crackers and that seemed to have done the trick for me. I have not noticed anything since them and neither have I been checking my levels either (I know I should). I just did my six month lab work and everything was great. My fasting level was 94 which was great as the results states anything 96-120 is pre diabetic and anything above 120 is diabetic. I would love to say that I don't have it anymore and based on my results which were normal range even makes me want to say it even more but I was told that once you have it, you always have it that it is just under control. Nonetheless, I am happy. I hope that you will get the information you will need so that you will be comfortable with everything now and post surgery. Keep us posted. Best of luck to you.
