Guest guest
I sure hope you mean 2 steps forward and 1 step back, or we're all in a barrel of trouble ;-) Holly >Relapses can be common as Marilyn always says.. it's one step forward 2 steps back.. that is EXACTLY how it worked for me.. and then one day it was like " Ohh my god.. I am doing so much better than I used to " > > Hang in there! > > Jodi >
Guest guest
, I am so sorry you are experiencing an increase in symptoms. That must be a real bummer considering you didn't have many coming in. Thing is sometimes with gut dysbiosis we get worse before we get better and boy I wish that wasn't the truth.. Royally sucks. Hang in there though.. It is well worth it. The idea of the intro is just to give our body extra rest to like boost the healing process.. I understand your logic as to why you didn't do the intro but since you are experiencing symptoms I would totally do it now and make it very simple and progress.. Yo might actually be able to move along quickly which would be a nice thing.. I on the other hand was like slower than a drunk turtle. LOL. The dried mango or any fruit but mango is especially chewy is a huge red flag for me along with the almonds. I also would be careful of raw veggies and peels and seeds like Katy said. The SCD is a very well balanced and healthy lifestyle. You don't need a salad every day to stay healthy.. Although I certainly understand that point of view as I have always been fond of the raw food lifestyle. It's just our guts need to heal completely as undigested food feeds the bad bugs... So just think about it this way.. it's not that you won't eat salads it's just that you will eat it when your dysbiosis is under control and you are better.. Then you will actually be able to utilize those nutrients. It took me just about 2 years on the diet and surgery to work up to well strained green juiced which give me a total jolt!! Love it. I ate what would be considered pretty healthy pre-SCD. Lots of organics. But being on this diet I have learned that places like Whole Foods, Trader Joes, health food stores just basically have " better quality " junk food even what appears to be pure and healthy. I was pretty grain heavy prior to the diet. The grains even heirloom organic is detrimental to us and even all the natural type sugars out there...
