Guest guest
Hi, I'm new to the list and pretty new to SCD. I bought a yogurt maker, and I when I checked the temperature of the yogurt, it was up to 120 degrees. So I bought a dimmer switch and tried that out on my last batch. No matter where I kept the dimmer switch, it kept the yogurt at 80 degrees- even at the highest setting. Towards the end of the 24 hours, I just took the yogurt maker off the dimmer switch and let it heat up to the 100-120 degrees. Two questions- If I eat this yogurt, is it going to make me sick since it was kept at the 80 degrees for most of the time? (Sorry if that's a stupid question, I don't know enough about bacteria growth to know if that's OK or bad.) Also, any idea on what I'm doing wrong with the dimmer switch? I don't understand how I couldn't get the temperature to get any higher.
