I just watched an old episode of Diagnosis Murder & this guy's shooting had been ruled a suicide. But Dr. Sloan discovered the guy had carpal tunnel syndrome, so he couldn't possibly have fired the gun! I saw it coming & told my mom, they're going to say it can't be suicide because he has carpal tunnel! Then I showed her how easily I could do it, and just then Dr. Sloan says, It was so severe that he was scheduled for surgery! Well, gee, I was scheduled for surgery a year ago, until I found out my insurance was canceled. And I've managed to do a lot of stuff more difficult than shoot myself.

I know, I know. It's just a television show. And not even a serious one at that. Now if Bobby Goren on Criminal Intent made a mistake like that, I would really be upset. But he wouldn't. Do you think I need to have a cookie & go to bed?

Bonnie, you know that you aren't imagining this. I've had a couple of emg's that showed "mild carpal tunnel." Well, I don't care what the stupid test says, my hands give me "moderate to severe" problems in daily life! I talked to my neuro last week about the carpal tunnel surgery that I had planned to have a year ago, before I found out I had no insurance. He doesn't think that the surgery would give me significant improvement, because he thinks most of the numbness & weakness is due to neuropathy, just like my feet. Jiminy cricket, just when I was all set to reschedule the carpal tunnel surgery. I'm going to do some more research on this.

Well, I didn't help you much, did I?!? I hope that your spinal tap gives some useful info. Make sure you get copies of these tests & all lab work, remember?

The emg was normal, no neuropathy, no carpal tunnel that he thought would explain the numbness, the dead-like-wood hands in the middle of the night. I asked him if Im crazy. I dont know how the lp came out and I had a rough time cause the radiologist couldnt find my spinal fluid. Hit my leg nerve a couple of times and that did hurt. Once he found the fluid (after fishing around in there) it went quite well. no headache, either. Dont get me wrong, I would prefer not to have anything, but I burned myself rather badly and had no pain a couple of months ago. When I went to see the this nuero for the visit, he found I didnt have the reflex in the bottom of my feet. The one where they run something along the bottom of the sole. I also had lack of feeling in my feet and going up my legs. I didnt know I had that. I geuss its the usual frustration we all deal with. I asked him if neurosarc would show up on the emg's and he said it should. Im glad mine were fine, but what's wrong with me????
