Guest guest
Hi again- My surgery was done laproscopically and I had five small incisions. One had one staple, and the other four had two staples each. Dr. Umbach in SSF removed them at two weeks with an instrument that looked like a pair of scissors. It grasped the staple in the middle and bent it down, causing the ends to lift up. I was really afraid that it would be a staple puller, which triggered my fixation with Vicodin. The actual process wasn't that bad although there was minor discomfort with a couple that had healed too well. My main complaint was that he then noticed some puss in one of the incisions and proceeded to squeeze it like a zit - HELLO! It was attached to me and still tender. It sounds like each surgeon and/or surgery is different, so it will be a mystery until you change the bandages. Guest guest
Richmond doesn't do staples. SSF does but fortunately Richmond does not. The tegaderm strips will be off by your 2 week appointment.
