Guest guest
Hi all!! I am 2 weeks post-op and I do not have diarrhea at all. In fact, I move my bowels once a day in the morning and it normal. Will I still lose weight? I can eat pretty much whatever I want with no adverse reaction and it feels as if I never had the surgery at all. The only thing that I notice is that I can't eat as much as I used to. Has this happend to anyone else? Thanks! a Lap BPD/DS 4*6*01 Dr Herron Mount Sinai Hospital

I didn't experience diahhrea (but my bowels were loose and still can be although they are more solid at this point out - almost 3 months). I had no problems eating anything whatsoever. I often felt like I had never had the surgery done, except for some aches as my body healed (I had the procedure done laparoscopically at Mt. Sinai by Dr. Gagner). I am losing slower than many people, but I'm getting there! I seem to be on a roll now --- I'm at 266 (down from 269 late last week!). My body really does struggle against it --- I stay at a weight for some time (could be a few days up to a week or more) and then all of the sudden it just flies off for awhile! LOL I definately cannot eat as much as I could pre-op. My diet has changed because I definately focus on proteins first and to a greater degree and I try to eliminate sugars (some weeks are much more sucessful than others! LOL). I am always popping pills at meals, but other than that I really haven't noticed any major changes in my lifestyle. All the best,
