Hi all!! I am 2 weeks post-op and I do not have diarrhea at all. In

fact, I move my bowels once a day in the morning and it normal. Will

I still lose weight? I can eat pretty much whatever I want with no

adverse reaction and it feels as if I never had the surgery at all.

The only thing that I notice is that I can't eat as much as I used

to. Has this happend to anyone else?

Thanks!

a,

So reassuring to read this at this particular moment in my life. i

just got to the office and listened to my phone message that my

insurance company has approved my lap BPD/DS with Dr. Elariny (VA

suburbs of Washington, D.C.). Having read for days and days

everything that has been going wrong for so many on this list, the

good news about insurance approval also got me scared $#!^less that

it is now real. Then, I read your comments, and can only hope for

the same smooth journey for myself.

Best,

Steve

a,

I am one week out and feel the same way. I eat a lot less, but

everything I have tried so far (baked fish, chicken salad, baked

potato, etc) has gone down well. I don't have diarrhea either

however my stool is a bit softer. I go once in the morning and

sometimes have a little gas at night but that is it. I guess

everyone is different! BTW, thanks for the post, I was worried I was

doing something wrong.

Hi a,

I had my DS surgery on 02/06/01. My body does the same thing as

yours and I have lost 60 pounds in less than 3 months. Hang in there

and enjoy the ride!
