Guest guest
I'm wondering if anyone here has diverticulitis and has found success with the SCD. I know most of us have UC or Crohns, but Elaine claimed in her book that the diet was good for diverticulitis as well. I have a friend who was recently diagnosed with this and although I mentioned the diet to her, I wasn't sure whether to recommend it. Although it is another bowel disease, it seems so different since the treatment is antibiotics. Anybody have any first hand knowledge? thanks so much heather UC 12 y SCD 9m

All I can say is that by grandmother died of complications from diverticulitis. My mother was in the hospital last year with bleeding from diverticulitis. When I had my colonoscopy last January, there was no sign whatsoever of the " family disease. " And if you read the blurbs on BTVC, you'll see that diverticulitis is, indeed, mentioned. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund

Well, yes, it's a balancing act. Does your husband tolerate the almond flour goodies? Almond flour, according the Metamucil's own advertising, has more fiber than Metamucil (which is illegal). — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund
