My Last Meeting (cross-post)

An automated reminder will soon be popping up for the Oakland Kaiser

group on the first Wednesday of August. I have been facilitating this

meeting for almost two years now; attending for almost 3. It is my

" home base " meeting, and I have met many wonderful people and made

many lifelong friends in that 12th floor room. So, it is with mixed

feelings that I say the next meeting will be my last. I am

transferring to my company's operations center in Texas, and will be

moving the week of August 20th. The move is actually a piece of my

WLS journey. I would not have had the confidence to go after the job

I wanted if I were still 130 lbs. heavier. Now I have a brighter

future with a new life in a new place.

I would love to see as many people as possible at the meeting. And,

fear not: The meeting will be in very capable hands when I'm gone.

Two veterans will co-moderate, one of whom passed the baton to me many

months ago. I can only hope to find a group of this caliber in Texas.
