Guest guest
Hello we have had good success with the enzymes but have experimented a bit my little ones got a bit ratty on half Zyme and Half Pep so I have changed it to 1 Zyme 3x per day and they have settled wonderfully - I think the pep was hurting them a little - I plan on introducing the pep very very slowly - it may just be too strong for them as yet, we started in December. I would just go back to slow baby steps. Hopefully you will get more suggestions shortly but don't give up yet, the settling in stage can take some time for some kiddies from what I have read. Regards Terri (NZ) [ ] Really Worried Hey everyone. I am really worried about my son and am thinking of stopping the enzymes. I thought I would post this first and get some feedback from those of you who have been through it. We started the enzymes at the begginning of Jan. I went up really slow, we had some rough times, but when I backed off the dose a little he got better and had a good week last week. I decided to increase to 1 cap of each Houstons and he started to cry again at school (basically all day). So I backed off the dose again to 3/4 cap of each (just w/ lunch and dinner). Now for 2 days, he keeps taking himself to bed when he's home and crying all day at school. Had to go get him today. I am so concerned that the enzymes are making him sick. He is non verbal, so he can't tell us what is going on. He is not totally gfcf. We did that for a year when he was 5 with no results, so we stopped. He is 10 now. He has always reacted negatively to various supplements I have tried over the years. I was hoping the enzymes would be different. Any thoughts? Thanks, Nina
Guest guest
Hi Niki, When I started this diet, I had been a vegetarian for 16 years, since the time I left home, so I had no idea how to cook meat. What I did to help this was I watched a lot of cooking shows on TV, checked recipe sites and watched cooking on youtube as well. There are a lot of websites that help you learn how to roast a chicken, etc. You will have to adjust your cooking style a bit, though. For example, you want to cook on low heat and just keep checking the meat so that you don't overcook it. Meats shouldn't look dry and it's also good if red meats are still slightly pink in the middle. Once you do it a few times, you will get the hang of it. You can also use many of the same spices you might be used to from your Indian heritage to prepare meals. I often make chicken or beef curry (minus the cream and yogurt, of course). It might not be 'authentic', but at least it won't be as foreign to your palate. I also find that the curry-style dishes are very conducive to the addition of extra oil and butter. You would calculate all the fats found naturally in foods and even your cod liver oil intake in to your calculations. I can tell you are very upset about all the changes you need to make and I encourage you to do things that will help you to relax like doing deep breathing exercises or taking a relaxing bath or even watching a funny movie. Take it one day at a time and see how things go. Worrying about all the " what ifs " is going to drive you crazy. You'll see. Once you get started, things won't seem so overwhelming. Take care, (a group moderator) > > hi there > > im still saving up to do the diet, and will have to cook my meals every > eveing at someone elses house and eat the leftovers cold the next day...should i be ok doing this > > also as i said before im shunned upon as all my household are strict religous vegeterians....im soo sad because to them i am revolting:( > > being in a vegi household i dont have a clue about cooking meat and will have to bulk cook sometimes..im worried im going to mess the food part up of the diet and not heal > > how do i cook meats and obtain fats from them?? > > also im worried im not going to get enought fats, i understand fats are obtained from CO,butter etc but i see it dosnt calulate to my reccomended amount... and does the meat have fat to increase this please help?? > > also i had good modelling prospcts but iv had acne... im worried that it wont cure.... have you had anyone of the programme whos acne didnt cure?? > > sorry for the trouble >
