Hi Everyone,

I think my questions have calmed down for now, and thanks, all of you,

who have been so caring and helpful in answering things for me.

Now perhaps I can contribute a little bit. I am slowly looking into

various products and here are the results so far:

REAL SALT -- I have used this for years, and had in the cupboard a jaw of

their " organic natural season salt " , containing, if my old eyes

(I have no glasses that work these days, long story) reads it

right:

real salt, organic onion, organic coriander, organic spices, organic

mustard, organic black pepper, organic paprika, organic herbs, contains

no MSG.

I called them. They said there is nothing else in any of their

products than the ingredients listed on the label, not in this or

anything else. I specifically explained about our problem wiht hidden

sugars and starches, etc. She said, none.

STEVIA,

I mostly use KAL which I have seen is legal but I also have a pound jar

of stevia extract from NOW. I contacted them this morning and this

is the reply:

Hello ,

We do not add

anything else. It is 100% pure stevia powder.

Thank you for your

inquiry,

NOW FOODS NUTRITIONIST

NUTRITION & SCIENCE

Pure Encapsulations:

This brand is what I have been using for my vitamin D3. I called

them to ask about other ingredients and he said they mean what they say,

" pure encapsulations " , that there is nothing else in their

capsules, ever. They don't seem to have any fillers at all. I don't

know what all else they may make but I'm going to be looking there as

well as Freeda (where I've gotten my B-complex for ages and ages) for

other things.

That's it for now,

Hi Marilyn,

I quite agree. It's going to be a bit slow for me finding legal

versions of the supplements and such that I must continue to take, for

now. I quite agree that I may have to give up the stevia eventually

and I promise I will confess that I was blocking progress until then if I

do!

BTW, I really appreciate seeing in one of your notes that you went 26

years before starting SCD. Since I am 27 years, I really appreciate

knowing it's still possible to make progress after so long.

Elaine did not recommend stevia for several reasons. However, she allowed that tiny amounts could be used from time to time is saccharin and/or honey could not be tolerated.

However, as always, if using something like the KAL stevia, and you do not see the progress you hope for from SCD, be prepared to yank it for awhile.
