Guest guest
DH and I spent a weekend at Chicken Paradise Bed & Breakfast in San (www.chickenparadise.com) a few weeks ago. It's a gluten-free B&B but friendly for special diets in general. There's only one guest suite so the hosts, Anne and Joe, tailor the breakfasts to the guest(s) wishes. Anne and I corresponded by e-mail several times before our arrival, so she could ensure the breakfasts were exactly to our liking. We had almond-flour pancakes one morning and an omelette on the second morning. Anne is a wonderful cook and was somewhat familiar with the SCD anyway (she said she owns a copy of BTVC). The guest suite includes a kitchenette with a small refrigerator, microwave, and toaster oven. I would have liked to have a small indoor grill, such as a Foreman, but the kitchen was adequate. There's a Whole Foods Market about a mile away so it was easy to obtain fresh foods. The location is dynamite--it's about 15 minutes from the airport and 15 minutes from downtown San . It's set back from the street and feels like a bit of the country in the city. The landscaping is beautiful and there's a pool and a tree house to enjoy. Several chickens call Chicken Paradise their home, hence the name. -Amy
