Guest guest
It's only been 5 days, and you're improving so that's great. Perhaps you can introduce some cooked apples at this point. They may help things " move along " . Hang in there PJ > > Hi ya'll, > I was on the intro diet for about 5 days, and have come off of it. i introduced bananas (ripe and raw), yogurt, (it didnt work for me during intro), and well cooked carrots, i also use butter, possibly too much. > > My issue is i feel really constipated. This can possibly be because my meat intake is extremely high, i consume about 1.5- 2lbs of meat a day, as well as up to 5 bananas a day (man do i love those)... I still go to the bathroom 3-5 times a day which isnt a great number but much better than my previous 7-12 times... > > My poop isnt really too solid, and it seems like all the food i eat completely disappears cause i never see it make it to the toilet bowl. My stools are usually mucus, and gas. What can i do to improve this? less meat? a little more carrot(today i had about one and a half carrots)? more chicken soup? less bananas? > > > i eat about every hours because i am constantly hungry (or at least craving).. help is appreciated > > > > -Marcin >

Guest guest
Hi Marcin, What about adding some pureed steamed spinach? Also, have you looked at Elaine's constipation protocol? It worked like a charm to loosen BM's for me post surgery; http://www.breakingtheviciouscycle.info/knowledge_base/kb/constipation.htm From the link; If the diet and stewed prune do not make you go to the bathroom after a week to ten days, do the following: 1) Go to the market and look for PRUNE NECTAR (legal, without sugar). If you cannot find prune nectar, buy prune juice (legal) in a jar. Simmer the contents of the jar to half the volume. In other words, if you start with one quart, simmer it down to one pint. Refrigerate. 2) At breakfast, mix three tablespoons of the prune nectar with 1/2 cup Tropicana or freshly squeeze orange juice. 3) Start your breakfast with this mixture. Then eat your regular specific carbohydrate breakfast but make sure you have a large cup of something hot. Either your coffee or tea. Then go to the washroom and see if anything happens. Read and relax. If this does not work the first day, repeat for two or three days. On the fourth day if this does not work, then insert a glycerin suppository (get in drugstore) while you are sitting on the toilet and hold it in for one minute. If it still doesn't work, do the same thing the next day. It would not hurt on the first day you try the glycerin suppository after breakfast to use another one before going to bed. I am trying to establish a normal pattern of defecation for you and it may take almost a month. However, the children responded in a short time without the suppository. =========================================== Besides this (if it doesn't work) you could try adding a bit of legal magnesium glycinate at night- this could also help loosen you up. Have you tried coconut oil? This usually helps with making my uncomfortable firm BM's easier to come out- I am still adjusting to this new feeling as I had D for years. Be aware though coconut oil is anti viral and can give some die off symptoms so go slowly! These are just a couple of ideas for you. Please do not try all at once!! Start with one at a time and go slowly. I would go for Elaine's protocol first, intro a bit of spinach and then coconut oil. Give at least 4 days between every introduction. If all else fails go with a bit of magnesium glycinate at night. Jodi

They do that to some people. Big time.n -- I blog at www.ReformedRevelry.wordpress.com
