For those of you with dry skin that can be most trouble some here is a trick my allergist told me & I swear it does work!after your regular bath clean & rinse VERY well your bath tub. Next fill 1/2 full with warm water. To that add 1/2 cup of non Iodized table salt. Soak for 15 to 20 min.s.When you get out of the tub do NOT dry off with towel. Instead, put a small amount of preservitive free liquid cooking oil in the palm of your hands & rub the water droplets into your skin.Yeah, I know it sounds Nuts as all get out. I snickered up my sleeve till I tried it & found out how effective it is. I recommend doing this 2 times a week.It wont help with phantom itching but it should cut down alot of the skin irritations due to dryness. Yes, I do know what you are talking about. I too have had phantom itching & worse for me was the Burning sensations. I have sat & scratched a spot for no other reason than the itch was driving me till it was bruised & raw. It's a pain in the backside when you Know that it can't be as real as it feels huh?Strange as it may seem I noticed sence I have been blessed with this Sarc. that my skin is not the same. It is dry, leathery & thick in places like my feet but thin & like crap paper on my arms.>> In a message dated 1/25/06 8:07:43 AM Pacific Standard Time, > mosaicgirl1@y... writes:> > > > Does anyone have phantom itching - but no sores? Reading all these posts about itching has got me scratching everythere! Well, and reading an article in the local paper about bedbugs didn't help, especially the enlarged photo.

I had of systemic involvement was intense itching of my eyes that lasted several days. I would run my fingernails over my eyelidsRose, I had this last year, I thought it was just allergies, it drove me crazy, I still get it a little, and get no relief, until I close my eyes for the night and go to sleep. Wow, I really thought this was allergies?? duh, me :-) Marla

Terri, the only itching I have is where I have neuropathy--the forward half of my feet (just the bottoms) & one of my fingers. I can usually ignore itching from mosquito bites, etc., but this drives my crazy! It's like the feeling you get when your face has been numbed for dental work & the numbness is about half gone. It itches, but scratching doesn't bring any relief. I'm sure it's part of the sarc, because the first symptom I had of systemic involvement was intense itching of my eyes that lasted several days. I would run my fingernails over my eyelids & was tempted to use my hairbrush. Nothing helped, & meanwhile I got the fatigue, muscle weakness, etc. The eye itching gradually subsided & never came back.

It is especially bad in the summer, but sometimes I itch with no cause at all.Terri>> Don't know if this is true or not but on another forum someone said > their doctor told them to wash with selson blue shampoo. They said it > was helping with the itching a lot. I know you guys think I'm nuts and I kinda am. Just thought

inquiring minds would like to know that flea shampoo has the same

ingredients as lice treatment. Makes you kinda wonder what I do in my

spare time doesn't it?

I have nothing BUT time too. I sometimes bake too much

and give it away or I do crazy food concoctions

without a recipe. I've thrown a few of those away.

Idle hands may be the devils workshop but idle minds

belong to the assylum. LOL

Fortunately the grandkids are teenagers & haven't

brought me a bunch of the little " friends " down to

spend the night on my pillows for quite a few years.

My daughter finally figured out who they kept catching

them from & they were on the no sleep over list until

you Nix.
