Does Charly take the whole Creon capsules or the loose beads? Taking the capsules whole could be celebrated as a big party trick. And if he takes the loose beads, what do you use to hide them? Some kids (like my daughter) hate mixtures of something smooth (like applesauce) and something solid (like the bead). We have always given them with tea or water. What kind of enzymes does he take (drops or chewables)? Peace Torsten, dad of Fiona 5wcf

Guest guest
We give enzymes in raspberry sorbet. After much difficulty, and the resulting lack of growth and such, we hit upon this -- it was Grandmom Bev on this list who suggested ice cream, and we adapted that and tried sorbet. :-) It's become routine now although it isn't fun when you leave the sorbet out in the middle of the night and it melts. )O( mama to , 2yo, w/CF, and , 4yo, no CF both SZ alphas Be realistic: Plan for a miracle. ~ Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh Meds Does anyone know a creative way to get a three yr old to take his meds? Guest guest
> Charlie takes the Creon capsule.... I used to open up the capsules and sprinkle on Gerber baby food plums (they were easy to cart around and she loved them). Then we started to put the whole capsule (unopened) on the spoon and she would swallow it whole, which then eventually led to just swallowing the capsule with a drink. Now after all that we find that she is pancreatic sufficient and doesn't need the enzymes. Oh well, atleast she can swallow pills now. Guest guest
We bought an M&M dispencer, and put creons in it instead. The M&M " golf guy " always stand on the dinner table and you just have to tear on the golf stick , with any handyness you can get one at a time, otherwise sometimes 5 creons come out of it in one time. Greetings, Mieke from Belgium (mom of Xander - 5 y). Meds > Does anyone know a creative way to get a three yr old to take his > meds? I am having a problem with his Creon enzymes and his > vitamins. Guest guest
This is great! What a creative idea! Of course, this will be such a habit for Xander that he won't be able to eat without the dispenser, and he's going to look very silly in his 40's doing this! (Just kidding. I think this is great!) Guest guest
Hi. My three year old, her older sister and I decorate plastic spoon handles with fabric paint dots and scribbles. The paint dries like plastic and can be washed! I keep them in her favorite Disney plastic cup and she chooses the spoon for the day! I found that allowing her to be involved in taking meds helps her feel more control. She takes enzymes with a spoonful of chocolate pudding. Good Luck! Meds Does anyone know a creative way to get a three yr old to take his meds? I am having a problem with his Creon enzymes and his vitamins. Any input would be appreciated! Guest guest
hi there I used to workin a neuro office (just quit), and we ALWAYS had plenty of Neurontin samples in the office. I know sometimes they can be stingy about giving them out but I was always happy to hand them over to whoever was in need. I had a patient who I gave literally boxes of neurontin to, b/c she didnt have any ins. If you havent already please try to seewhat meds your md has samples of. If he/she has an ounce of compassion, they will hand them over. Hope this helps. Meg
Guest guest
what kind of meds are people with neuro taking now. I'm on Imuran 50mg tid, prednisone 60mg qd, neurontin 800m hs,Klonipin 2mg daily bp meds ambien 10mg hs. but i cant shake this internal anger and anger at people who dont understand how I feel. Its like if I have to live like this then why live. I was a nurse for 30 years and would like to know what else other people are taking. I understand there is a Dr in St Louis who specializes in sarcoid. I live in AR so not a great distance for me. Anyone else heard of him. But there is also the issue of my disability I dont want to screw it up. I would love to hear from anyone who has this and knows what I'm going thru. My parents are in their 80's so they dont understand. If you cant see it then its not there. They just feel I'm a mental case. My grown children's response is " take your medicine and go to bed. " I have no one else but my 4 dogs who do love me.If there is something else maybe I can talk to my pcp about it although he really doesnt want to deal with my sarcoid. thanks, nancy
