Guest guest
Hi Marla, I have found Disney World to be do-able. SCD is a bit more tricky than gluten free but I have managed well and always had a good time. The all-star hotels are reasonable as Disney goes. (there is Music, Sports, and forget the other one right now--) If you request in advance, they will give you a fridge in the room for "medical reasons" at no cost but it is important to ask when you book. There are 3 All-Stars and they are very similar but all lovely. They have a large food court with plain salads made up, plates with fruit, hard-boiled eggs, etc. which worked for us. d in fruit bought locally in area. Food Court also has a microwave that we used to warm some things. We didn't eat "fancy" but it was adequate and worked. If you are traveling by car, you might have room for your own small microwave to put in your room.....works very nicely. (not sure how far you're driving or how much you can prepare at home and bring with you) I brought cooked chicken, etc. and no one was hungry. Truly didn't find much in the park that was safe and only meal I ever ate there on one visit was in Canada (Epcot) Plain salmon, I was assured over and over was plain and vegetables. I was very sick and never did that again. You can make it work if you carry some things in and don't expect a major dining experiencel. It's all about the place and the magic you experience--not the food. So keep that in mind and you'll have a great time and it won't cost a bundle. First trip I ever made was GF for me and early celiac diagnosis for a 5 year old grandchild. We paid, I don't remember how much, for a character breakfast and were only able to eat 2 hardboiled eggs each and (the grapes I carried in).. But the characters were there and we had a glorious time (if not a glorious meal) That child is now 18 years old, starting 1st. year of college and she still remembers that Pocahontus meal. That was what counted! Have a great trip........it will be what you make it. Also there are bathrooms EVERYWHERE! Gen
