Guest guest
I came across a great story, i think on scdiet.org, about a minister who got on the diet due to severe ulcerative colitis. Anyways, her advice was that one month was not enough, to give the diet three months. That was a better litmus test of it's ability to heal you. I have an older printing of BTVC, so Elaine says one month in the book I have, but does she expand that in later editions? Just wondering. Having been on it three weeks, I still crave stuff, but I feel like there's no going back. I don't care if I see no improvement at the end of one month, this diet makes too much sense. It's not even a matter of 'will it heal my crohn's' but getting rid of all refined sugars and carbs and industrial foods that I want to maintain. I just need some land where I can grow my own almonds. Oh, and my wife and I blanched five poounds of almonds yesterday by hand, you know, the whole boiling water over the nuts, then squeeze them out of the skin. It was murder. I'm buying blanched almonds next time. jonathan
