Guest guest Posted May 14, 2001 Report Share Posted May 14, 2001 Hello all, I am soooooooo excited!!!!!! Dr. McGuire in Kettering Ohio is going to do my DS. My consult date is July 13th (the day after my birthday! What a present!). And my surgery date is Oct. 9th!! I am so excited. I am hurt to say that not too many people share in my excitement. They just want to tell me stories they have heard of people dying from this surgery etc. I just can't seem to make them understand. I guess they will have to wait and see how well I do afterwards. My GYN is totally against the surgery but my referring dr. is my family dr. My mom is a nurse but she said I need to loose the weight before surgery!!AHHHH! I know I need to loose SOME weight but as I told her that is what the surgery is for! Some people are just clueless. She is oveweight so I would have expected her to understand but she doesn't. I told her I am doing it with or without her support and it would be easier if she just supported me! The only problem I can see is if my insurance refuses to change the rny to the ds. I am approved already with the rny but Dr.McGuires office said they could submit for the insurance to change and that my insurance will. Please pray that they will! Don't want anyone raining on my parade!!!!!
