Guest guest
Congrats on your fast surgery date!!! I hope you tell us more about your chronic pain issue. It is one of the primary reasons I have decided to go ahead. My PCP and Pain Managment doctors have great hope that losing about 95 lbs will have a big impact on chronic back pain. I look forward to the time when I can lift my grandson up, play horsey again with my grand daughter or just go for a dawn hike with DH. I have spent 5 years being " all stove up " as my grandpa used to say. He accepted that someone pushing 60, as he was then, would be in pain from the physical job he did. He also would never do stretches before beginning work, just went into it full bore. When I got a very physical job, 24 years and 80 lbs ago, I began every day with stretches, took care of what I did and tried to be as safe as possible. Then, an auto accident 7 years ago started a slide into even more weight gain and chronic pain that no surgery, accupuncture, chrystals or meditation could fix. Now I am on a large dose of narcotic pain meds..literally hooked on the addictive meds to live any sort of normal life. No wonder my blood pressure is high! Phew...didnt mean to unload here I guess that was boiling away in my psyche and needed to come out...thanks for the free psychiatry! Take care and keep in touch elle - lap/DS pre-op doing the footwork BMI 37, 255#, 5'9 " , 58 YO, hypertension, type ll diabetes on insulin, high cholesterol and chronic pain
