I've been pre- approved for surgery (actually I was approved 2 years ago, but I lost my Dad suddenly so things got put off) Anyway... now I'm in the " pipeline " so to speak - I am under care of UCLA and will attend the 2nd of their required meetings this week (and weekly for the rest of July). I'm 46, live in Simi Valley, married 25 years this year and we have 1 son going into (gasp) high school in September! I scrapbook for a hobby and have a wonderful support group of friends that are totally behind me as I approach surgery. My biggest challenge thus far (and I don't think its a surprise) is losing the required weight (I need to lose betw. 20-40 lbs). I'm also looking for any support groups in my area (San Valley is fine) so if you know of some, I'd love to hear from you.
