If you want a nurse, I would think and have heard that a nurse for the first night is sufficient, companions for the remainder of the time good. The only difference I suspect was that the nurse took my vitals, and was able to go to the duty nurse to get my prescription pain meds. As long as someone is with you to support you in what you need and follow up with the staff nurses, all will go well.
