Meat loaf question

Hi all,

 

I'm planning to make meat loaf for my dad's birthday tonight.  I was planning to use the recipe in BTVC:

 

1.5 lbs ground beef (except I'll be using turkey)

1 egg

1 medium tomato

1 medium onion

parsley

celery

green pepper (but I'm not going to use this)

1 carrot

 

The recipe calls for me to blend all the vegetables in the blender. 

 

QUESTION:  Do any of you know -- are those vegetables supposed to be cooked before blending, or do I blend them raw?

 

Also, if anyone else has a meatloaf recipe they've had good luck with (especially using ground turkey), I'd love to hear about it.
