Hi all,

It's been awhile since I have posted, but I have been reading all of the posts.

I have read posts about those who have just decided that GBS is for them, who have been approved, and who have recently had the surgery, and the ups and downs of all of it.

I have read about those who have are a month out or 2 years out who may still have the same food issues. And of those who have made the change in their life even more so by choosing additional surgeries so that their new bodies fit better into their new lives.

I have also read about people who have suffered losses, made other life changes, moving onward and upwards. And so much more. For everyone, my congratulation and prayers!

I had my referral on July 2nd, '04, was approved in early September, had orientation on 2/1/05 in SSF. I knew this is what I wanted to do and I wanted to do it on my schedule dammit - why is this taking so long???

I had appts scheduled with Beth and Dr Stiles, three times, and had to cancel three times because of work. I live in Santa Clara and rely only on public transportation, and taking an entire day off was not possible when the dates came. My last one was scheduled for April 1. A couple of weeks ago, after nearly two months, I called SSF to reschedule the appts for later this month.

I thought I was so ready - and I realized I wasn't! Reading the posts on this list (which by the way - is my only support) has helped me tremendously. I haven't posted because I feel I don't feel I really don't have much to offer. Yes - a side effect from being overweight and feeling worthless (yada yada yada - it's been said - some of you have been there before - which makes me know I am not alone.)

I made the appts on May 26th, and my appts are both on June 23rd. I have lost 12 pounds, with 28 to go to reach the 10% mark. I know all I can do is my best
