Thanks I have gone there but I wanted personal experiences from people.

I have been fighting for over a year now and have been a member of the

list just as long. Walter was just asking me so I thought I could get

some more info from personal experiences.

Therese,

Happy Birthday to Ainslie and Connor. It's a big deal when you hit

'double number's'. We haven't done a gymnastics' party yet, but they

are already telling me what they want for next year and they only just

had there's. You must being doing something right to keep her so well.

We on the other hand are having a lousy year with Cf, so it's good to

hear all the kid's who are doing well.

Good luck with your exam's. I'm off now out to dinner with my parents

(no husband or kids).

(Australia)

Ainslie

I can't believe it, Ainslie turns 10 today and Connor turned 6 last

Friday. They had a gymnastics party at our local PCYC (think it is

similar to a YMCA elsewhere) on Saturday and they had an absolute

ball. Every couple of years I combine their birthdays - makes it easier

for me and they love it as there are more people to have a great time

with.

I am still so amazed that Ainslie has stayed so well. I remember so

clearly the dread and worry I felt in the first couple of years, it

still comes back to haunt me when something new occurs.

But hey, Ainslie has only been hospitalised for sinus clean outs and

that is it. She has only had one serious lung infection and that was in

July - that was enough to get her to understand why you need to look

after yourself ie be able to breathe. So besides the myriad of drugs,

treatments and exercise she is just a normal everyday kid.

Must go I have exams in 19 days, as someone reminded me just a little

while ago, and I am not at all ready for them.

Kim,

Re your request on animal medication -

I have forwarded to my friendly vet and animal toxicologist who works for

the Therapeutic Goods Administration, and will let you know what she comes

up with.

Terri,

I do the usual clinic visits as is at work. But any night time

things, physio, boogie sucking, anaemia's etc. In fact all the gross

stuff is his job.

Have you had much of a heat wave there?

WOW - if either of the kids need to go to the doctor or hospital Nigel

runs a mile.

Didn't even make it into the hospital the last time she had sinus

surgery.

Funny thing is, when he was unemployed for 12 months he only did one

doctor type visit - a lung function test - and you would have thought I

was demanding his manhood or something equally as dreadful. LOL.

Ainslie wasn't much better.

Great that your hubby helps or rather is an interested participant in

your family and ALL it entails.

I'm jealous.

Terri,

Were do they live in SA? Today it was about 28c so it was perfect, as

was yesterday. But they say by the weekend high 30'sc again. At least

we can play outside in the water (I say we because us adults also went

on the slip & slide).

(Australia)

p.s. I have my in-laws sleeping over for the very first time on New

Years Eve yippee!!!

We have had some terrific weather lately, warm but not heat wave

conditions. Xmas day and today have been quite cool, light jumper

weather at times.

We tend to get our hot weather at the end of January through to early to

mid March.

My inlaws have been here for 11days and they are happy to be here out of

the heat, but I will be happier tomorrow afternoon when the leave to go

back to SA.

They really have no idea of what our family is like, dealing with life

with cf and trying to be normal.

Oh they have just returned home from a picnic - better go.

Hi Rose,

I haven't had a bad one for a long time, I am feeling better. I also

get Diflucan with any antibiotics, do you think that would treat the

underlying fungus?

thanks,

Marla

Marla, if you get a lot of sinus infections, you

may have a chronic fungal infection in your sinuses. If you do have a

"fungus amongus" the antibiotics will only give temporary relief until

the fungal infection is treated. This is kind of like the ulcers,

where many doctors are still treating will just antacids, even though

the presence of an underlying bacterial infection has been publicized

for years. Hope you feel better soon.

Terri,

We do all go through problems like this, I have a bad sinus infection,

the kind that is like stuck up in the sinuses and doesn't drain, except

at night when I lay down then I waking up and cough stuff up for

awhile, but the past couple days the face pain and pressure were too

much, well I finally got an Rx antibiotic for it, and about fell over,

$60 my copay for 5 pills, ouch! anyway point is that the past couple

of weeks have been H-ll around here too, regarding my husband, only

yelling and blaming instead of not talking, that too is difficult, and

now he wonders why I have gotten sick with a sinus infection?? duh???

Oh well, see that is life, and we all need somewhere to vent, where

other's understand and we all do!

hugs and blessings,

Marla

,

I

really need the prayers more now than ever. Without going into details

my home life isn't that great right now. My husband, all of a sudden,

has been awful. I know it must be difficult to live with someone who

is sick all the time, but it is such an about face. I was singing his

praises (and about our marriage) a couple of weeks ago and all of a

sudden he is not even speaking to me. He works out every day after

work and doesn't get home until 6:30 or so. He just doesn't want to be

at home. He golfs every Saturday (all day) so the only time I really

see him is on Sunday. I just don't understand what is going on. Maybe

it is just too much for him. If it is, I wish he would just say so...I

don't need the additional stress. I woke up with facial pain and

drooping today and I know it is in part caused by the stress that I am

feeling from being ignored all week.

Wow,

I didn't mean to say that much, but I know a lot of people on the site

go through marital problems. I just thought our faith in God had

brought us closer and I realize that he may not believe it like I do.

Sorry for the diatribe.

Thanks

for your paryers.
