Guest guest
Hey .. Yes, both die off and Candida overgrowth in progress can present with a white coated tongue. I have had both. I have also had a fever from die off and from eating a candida trigger food. I wish it was less complicate to decipher. How badly coated is her tongue? Is she having other symptoms besides the fever? Mistakes happen on the SCD. If I could list all of the mistakes I have made just from eating bad food.. It is just too long to list. Learn from this experience and just move on with your head held high with as little guilt as possible. You are a mom after all so I dunno if being guiltless is a possible state LOL. I know how rotten I feel when I mess up with things like eating something I shouldn't due to it being bad.. we just gotta move past the worry and continue ahead. Listen, if you would of seen the mold you wouldn't of given it to her. I have gotten a fever and coated tongue after eating something bad. I think it just over activated the immune system kicking our guts to rev up in hyper mode. Give her some more simple foods. Like cut out the nuts or at least the amounts of nuts. Is she having any bowel discomfort? A great thing to use for a coated tongue is some activated charcoal water and a good tongue scraper. Don't use hydrogen peroxide at all it has been shown not to be great for gargling at all. Terry is a dentist she could probably either correct me or back me up on this one! LOL. We also have a dental hygienist who has a couple of dentists in her family as well.. This too shall pass! Jodi

Guest guest
Ohh , If it persists too long than she probably should see a doctor. Jodi
Guest guest
Hi , I'm the dentist on the list. With a fever and HA and white coated tongue--she could just be sick; viral infection. If it's thrush ( oral Candida (yeast)), her tongue would possibly be red with white plaques or patches, THAT WIPE OFF, with a gauze or light cotton cloth. Any rash on the rest of her body? Specifically around her trunk or privates or upper thighs? If her fever persists, she needs to be checked by her pediatrician. Please don't beat yourself up about the possibility of her eating some mold----we are meant to kill molds in our stomach. Man has been eating mold for centuries. Penicillin is mold. You have done nothing to hurt her. Also, you state the HA and fever started yesterday and she ate the muffin this am, so the timeline is wrong. If you are concerned, it's best to call her doctor to be seen. Best of luck, Terry
