I had a bit of a dicey time with ICU for a couple of days and on the ventilator for all of it ... but then ... small price to pay now that I am alright and on my way to a slim and healthy life! I have not been weighed yet - I see Dr. Kim today late, but I know I have dropped at least 20 pounds! (I think!) Every >> It's so good to hear you're doing well, Judi. Let us know how it goes withe Dr. Kim. My insurance has denied the DS procedure and Glen has said Dr. Booth will appeal, but she didn't sound too optimistic about the chances of them changing their mind. I 'm really unhappy about this. I guess I could get the RNY-distal, but I have heard so many things about people regaining weight after a couple of years and I darned sure don't want to go throught his again, not to mention having to learn to live with the pouch and dumping! I am so disgusted that they would pick and choose for me, what procedure I should have. We will have to try to educate BCBS of Ala, but they are not known for having alot of common sense. Each person I've talked to there seemed to be unable to think for themselves. All they will tell you is what's in their system, with little thought to whether or not it is accurate. Last week one Rep told me my letter of denial had been mailed out on March 12, after telling me they had reached a decision of March 28! I said, " so you made a decison on 3/28, yet you were able to mail that letter on 3/12? " She said, " well, that's what's in my system. " I thought -- well, what's in your head?
