My DS with Dr. Keshishian has been approved by PERSChoice (Blue Cross of CA

PPO)! I'm stunned to say the least as I didn't have to write any letters or

gather documentation or anything. (I guess that BMI of 52 and the

co-morbidities scared 'em enough!)

I had my consult with Dr. K on April 18 and the request was submitted on

April 23. I was getting VERY anxious as I was told that BC usually faxed back

approval immediately. I finally just called BC directly and when they called

back, they said I was approved!

My heart goes out to everyone who struggles with HMOs, as my husband and I

dealt with one for two years through his cancer and HCV treatments. So I feel

especially fortunate that my DS was approved so easily and quickly.

Now I can concentrate on ab exercises, aqua aerobics, my guided imagery tapes

for surgery, and shedding a few pounds, not to mention leaving my office for

4-6 weeks.

My surgery is tentatively scheduled for June 26th, the day after my birthday.

Now I'll have two!
