For the " Newbies " and lurkers: As should be obvious by now, this

list is about the WHOLE journey of bariatric recover, not just the

nuts and bolts of preparing for, getting, and recovering from a

surgical procedure! This is a safe place to discuss literally

ANYTHING connected to it, without fear of being judged, ridiculed,

or feeling that you have to self-censure your thoughts, opinions, or

questions. (BTW, the only stupid question is the one not asked.)

We seem to share a kind of emotional shorthand here. We make almost

instant emotional/intellectual/spiritual connections sometimes.

We " know " each other, even though we don't know each other, if that

makes sense. We tend to ignore the superficial and " cut to the

chase. " We " get real " faster and without the game playing that

happens in " normal " relationships. I know that can be intimidating,

if you're not used to it, but believe me, you are welcome here. You

are valued here. You are safe here.
