Guest guest
Jan That is a scary statement and something i never heard before that someone having tinnitus would be deaf after a few years. I have had very serious severe tinnitus, sometimes on both sides, but most often left sided for the past five and half years, more severe at some times than others, depending on how im doing. there have been times that i have lost hearing in the left ear, at the beginning with my worst flare and though no one has tested it now, i am definately having troubles again now. ive been told the tinnitus is from the meningitis and from cranial nerve involvemnet as well. but the hearing trouble definatly comes and goes and hasnt thank god been permenant yet, and the tinnitus while permenant definatly gets worse and debilitating during flares and quiets at other times. i hope it doesnt always lead to deafness, one more thing to look forward to? i hope that offers you some hope? , my experience i mean. about the swollen lymph nodes mine suddenly, very suddenly swelled up as well, and i dont really recall them ever being so swollen before, and they are very very sore and tender. i know this never happened before. no active involvement = no active sarc is baloney my lungs have been very quiet for a long time. the first treatment with pred quieted them thank god, though now they seem to have some nodules and signs of renewed involvement again. it sounds like you need a second opinion. i hope something starts moving along for you, the ent referral suggestion sounded like a good place to start. maybe even just seeing your family dr about the swollen glands would start things off? take care kim ns moderator
Guest guest
Thanks Kim for the info and input, well I have a new primary care doc now so maybe his input on my swo;;en and very sore neck will be different than my last ones, and i'm definately gonna see about getting an ENT to check into things for me, now when my neuro made that statement about the tinnitis he was going on some sort of research he had read that was done last year so don't take it for gospel i'm not . hugs, Jan
