I have the impression from all the candida/yeast research I've done in the past, that it helps to both starve out the candida as well as using antifungals. Also remember that antifungals will kill off a certain amount of beneficial bacteria along with the yeast, so you may not want to use antifungals every day or even every week. If you continue to eat a diet high in candida-trigger foods, they'll continue to flourish and overpopulate in between the doses of antifungal. I suspect you can't make much progress in that case, and the die-off would be more extreme besides needing to push more probiotics in order to attempt to rebalance the gut ecology....

At least that is how things appear to me. It is just more effective to limit the candida-trigger foods while taking antifungals. You don't need to completely eliminate all trigger foods, and you can phase in and out of a drastic level of yeast elimination. All depends on your symptoms

My body is now completely intolerant of antifungals, natural or prescription. Still is, even years after my candida overgrowth was taken care of which is frustrating to me as I love garlic but now can't touch it [sigh]. I had to use food choices to starve out the yeast/candida. Worked, just took time, and the positive aspect of this process was that there was little die-off stress.
