Guest guest
Hi all, Just to get my two cents in. I was told that the Mt. Sinai group met early in cafeteria. Most of the group was friendly and invited me to sit with them. As with any group there are pleasant and not so pleasant aspects. But while I sat there it became clear to me this was NOT the place for a preop patient to be. Hey, it's their group and they can do whatever they want. But it was anything but supportive for newbies and that was no secret. I thought about not being able to speak my mind and ask questions and thought it would be best if I just left. After reading the last days posts I am happy that with all that is wrong with me my insticnts are still intact. I was one of the people who showed up for the group for preops last Monday when nobody from hospital showed up. But I can tell you that it was worth going to THAT meeting just to meet the other people in the same place in their search as I am. I'm turned off to the D/S group now but not to the process. I suppose people can form a new group if and when they progress that far. I'll bring it up at the next meeting of preops assuming I'm allowed to talk and a Doctor shows up. : - ) Will
