Guest guest
Rose, The email from Jeanne was excellent advice regarding Sam. I taught high school for 8 years and worked at an Attention Home for truant and uncontrollable teens. Jeanne stated it in the best way I have seen. Sometimes the best love is tough love. Everyone, When I was on here before, the religion controversy broke out. I am a Christian. While we all need a strong belief to get through this, I hate to see hurt feelings and bickering on the list. That is what happened before, people got offended, feelings got hurt, and people left the group. We need to avoid that. I think the separate chat is an excellent way of handling that if we recognize that people of all religions can get NS. Update: Yesterday, the doctor's told me the test for Meniere's Disease was positive. However, they were really puzzled because the neuro's test said the right ear was significantly worse and the ENT test showed the left ear was the worse. I just laughed and told them that was very typical of how my test results come out. So now I have NS and Meniere's. Does anyone else on the list have Menier's? Guest guest
Becky, thanks for the reinforcement. It really helps. As for the Meniere's, I don't have it. I do get mild vertigo with certain position changes, mostly turning my head to the right when I'm lying down. It happens every time I'm at the dentist. He was a bit alarmed the first time, because my eyeballs zipped back & forth (nystagmus), but now he expects it. It doesn't last long. I have a friend who has pretty severe Meniere's. She just retired from midwifery in December, at 70! When she had a bad episode, she couldn't even get out of bed. She vomited a lot with it also. It improved some when she was prescribed HCTZ, a diuretic. She doesn't have NS or any other neurological disorders, but one of her sons has epilepsy. Probably no connection. I've not heard of an association between sarc & Meniere's. Just good luck on your part, I guess! I know that each of us has a unique way of dealing with our journey of illness. One of the most difficult issues we deal with as moderator's is the religion issue, along with stopping political issues. Like you, I'm a Christian. I have my way of celebrating my faith--and I honor those with different faiths and their right to do what works for them. We all know that those who pray, offer us that support--whether we state it on every email or not. It's such a fine balance-- and I hope that by having a place to discuss your belief and experiences in an enviroment that is responsive to that-- that it will open the door for everyone to participate in posting to the group, to get their questions answered about sarcoidosis, and to use laughter and humor and shared joys and trials-- as we all have them--- as a family of people that want to know what to do next. (I know I didn't say that well, it's one of those nights. .) Anyhow, we'll be setting up the chat rooms real soon. Sincerely, Tracie NS Coowner/moderator
