Guest guest
This was given to us at the Monday meeting in ez and it backs up what Francisco was trying to tell me. I dont know who the author is but its reassuring info. ARE YOU CONSTANTLY CUTTING CALORIES? When you dont eat enough, your body doesnt have enough calories to support basic functions, so it slows your metabolism down to conserve energy( Sass). Do the metabolic math. If you are within 10-20 pounds of your ideal weight, simply multiply your weight by 10-thats roughly the amount of calories you need each day to maintain your weight.( If you are overweight by 30-60 pounds multiply by nine) Now add in the calories you need to support your workouts: Multiply your weight by 1.3 if you are a light exerciser(easy workouts like walking two to three times a week), 1.4 if you are doing at least 4 moderate to intense sessions a week. Now add that number to your base calories to get your daily total. For example, if you weigh 150 pounds and you exercise four days a week you need about 1710 calories. I did mine: using the multiply by 9 since according to most medical charts Im still considered over weight and by 1.4 since I am training for the marathon. My calorie needs came out to 1640. Now this information obviously is for pre ops trying to lose the 10% and long term post ops trying to get back on track. Huggles
