Guest guest Posted February 13, 2006 Report Share Posted February 13, 2006 When I got my ssd they lowered my check by that amount & sent the difference & everytime I get an increase in ssd they're going to lower my private check , The way it works with my SSDI and my LTD match from my employer is that the small raises (lol) we get from SSDI are not subtracted from the amount that I get as the match from LTD. However, LTD will never increase. So that whooping $27.00 increase this year from SSDI is the only "extra" money I get each month. Was yours a union job? Most of those the employees fought for the companies to give them a LTD (Long-term disability) plan - which we had to pay a premium for; but it at least stayed so that if we were out for over a year, and then qualified for SSDI- that we'd still make 50% of our regular monthly salary. Those SSDI cost of living raise (lol again) I don't believe can be included in what the LTD people figure. Check with the union if you had one. Guest guest Posted February 13, 2006 Report Share Posted February 13, 2006 Tracie Unfortunately it wasn't a union job. I worked at a payroll service doing data entry. Unfortunately I got sick after I was permanently laid off from AT & T or I'd be sitting on a nice little disability from them. Can't win them all. The insurance from the office job will last until 2020 but the increases from ssd will eat it up long before then. I'll be glad to get away from them anyway.
