Guest guest
Hi Jill, To start, thank you for posting your hospital experience. I'm having surgery at Mt. Sinai too and it's great to be prepared. I wasn't totally shocked about the (lack of) nursing care, they're understaffed everywhere. It's a shame , having to basically beg to have your temp taken and drains emptied...come on, those are BASIC nursing duties. The added anxiety of this ,on top of worrying about possible complications , pain, and dealing with emotional stuff after surgery is alot to deal with. It's so important for us and our family/friends to be educated about post op care. We've got to be proactive. But I can't believe you haven't gotten a call back from Ganger's office. What is that?! Post op's with ANY complaints should get immediate attention! It's pretty scary, I mean, we need LIFETIME care from these people, what's going to happen years down the line? Maybe you should have your father or sister call the office, saying they're calling in regard to one of Dr. Ganger's patients, not saying they're your family. that might get them through. This is crazy!!! THANK GOD you made it through without any major complications, and I'm so glad you're able to eat without discomfort. Keep us posted Beth
