Guest guest
I am just adding my two cents about the Endoscopy (my surgeon required that I have one). I went to a gastro in NYC, Dr. Sherman and I have to say that from start to finish (in by 10:00 a.m. out by Noon), the only tiny discomfort that I experienced was the small pinch when the Dr. put the IV in. After the IV was started I was out and when I woke up, the Endoscopy was done, I sat up put my blouse back on and walked 3 blocks with my husband and ate Thai food for lunch. I did not experience any discomfort in my throat at all anytime after the procedure. In fact, I felt 100% fine and didn't even know I had this test. I was very nervous about the Endoscopy and heard horror stories about feeling like you were choking, soreness in the neck and throat, etc... My experience proved that this test can be done without any discomfort at all. If you are nervous, talk to your gastro and make sure that he has the facilities to put you out and that he does LOTS of endos. Jane J.
