Guest guest
Hi everyone, I just recently joined and this is my first time posting - i did a search but didn't see anything about this (sorry if i missed it). I've been on SCD for 13 months and have been diagnosed gluten sensitive (neg. celiac bloodwork but carry 1 DQ8 gene)and i had an endoscopy along with my routine colonoscopy (she did a small intestinal biopsy which my villi was ok thank goodness since i've been gf for 21 months). My stomach lining was irritated and there was some green bile and dried blood in there but no ulcers and she prescribed liquid carafate (has sorbitol so is SCD legal but i'm taking it anyway). The carafate seems to help some and i've been on it for @ 8 wks so i'm starting to taper off of it. I tried about 4-5 pomegranite seeds this past weekend which made my stomach sore and a little gassy - we also ate out this past Sat. and normally this restaurant is very good but i think there was some kind of starchy seasoning on the corner of my salad plate that i bit into and my stomach was pretty sore the next morning. I'm still limited in my SCD foods i can tolerate and was wondering if anyone else has had the stomach lining irritation also? I know stress plays a part in mine and i'm trying to manage it best i can. Right now i'm only able to tolerate chicken, fish, bison (occasionally), cooked carrots, g. beans, asparagus, broccoli, raw romaine lettuce, olive oil, ripe bananas (probably eat too many of these each day), avocados, sea salt and black pepper. I've been sticking to these safe foods for a while now but i wonder if there's something i'm missing or need to be doing? I took capryl for 90 days (only could tolerate 1 per day) and probably should try another anti-fungal. I was thinking of doing the intro diet for a little while again but i can't tolerate the long cooked chicken w/bones (usually make the soup w/out bones) and i stopped dairy back in Aug. (my bm's were better after stopping - less mushy and less constipation) - the SCD goat yogurt seemed to give me brain fog and fatigue. I've been reading up on active manuka honey - has anyone tried this? Can my Dr. test me for candida overgrowth? Thanks for any advice - i really appreciate it as i'm feeling kind of stuck and don't know what to do next. This group is wonderful - so much helpful information! Thanks!
