Guest guest
Hey Bill... I've vomited a number of times due to food not being chewed well enough and a pouch that started getting a little fussy after the first four weeks of smooth sailing. It feels like when you eat an apple, and a little chunk goes down and it causes violent hiccups? or if you are like me, and from time to time, you gulped water, and it is kind of "hard" going down and feels like something is stuck right at your sternum? When that happens, I have to throw it up...but it's more because it feels like it isn't going to my stomach or something. I thought that was dumping...but no, it wasn't. My first (and hopefully last) dumping experience was this week when I stupidly sampled a chocolate chip cookie. About 5 to 10 minutes later, I started feeling nauseous (with the other vomiting, there was no nausea). My heart began racing really fast, pounding. I was clammy and I had a fever. I vomited rather violently. Several times. When i smelled the balance of the chocolate chip cookie that was still in the little baggy...it made me ill again. I layed down, and the whole incident took about 20 to 30 minutes to recover from. I felt like crap, in short. So, that was my dumping incident. Not anxious to repeat it. Have you experienced dumping and if so, would you mind sharing? What foods caused it? After taking the food in, how long before you experienced the problem? What, specificially, did you experience? Thanks.Bill
Guest guest
I've heard that dumping is mainly when sugar and/or fats are " dumped " into your system. Did this happen soon after eating? or soon after eating something with sugar and/or fats, or even Splenda? Hopefully you can pay attention to what kinds of foods you were eating, and you'll learn to avoid those foods. My worse dumping happened after eating some wheat-berry toast (high sugar) with margarine on it (too much fats). I got sweaty, and had to BM right away. I felt weak too. I don't eat that stuff any more! :-) Good luck avoiding the dumping. However, it's good to dump, it keeps you on the straight and narrow on your eating. Those who don't ever dump on sugar find it easy to go off the eating plan, thus their weight loss goes slower. --Sandi > Ok i dont know if i experienced my first dumping syndrome last night > or it was just the first BM after surgery- > But i thought i was gonna die! > I was in pain, and sweating-i had to take a shower to cool off > I felt better after the deed was done, but Really, that was something > I wish i had warning about.. > > My gosh! > sarah castro > surgery 8-2 Fremont
