Guest guest
So, I talked with Beth from Richmond this morning regarding how much protein, etc. I should be getting in each day. I told her that I only ate protein and sometimes I couldn't get a 1/4 cup in at each meal. She said I should be close to 40 grams of protein. I said not according to Fitday.com. She send there are essential amino acids from protein (ones we have to get from food) and other amino acids that the body can create. She said this " malnutrition " state only lasts a few months and that is basically what they want at first so we lose weight quickly. She said it is really short term. She said they purposely left the binder vague on protein grams and calories because they do NOT want us to worry about those for now. As long as our meals are high quality protein, then not to worry about it. I tried to ask her about protein shakes but didn't really get an answer. She just acknowledged that Richmond doesn't want you to use them and that other facilities swear by them. I guess at our 6 week post-op group appointment (mine is next week), we'll get a lab slip and by the time we come back for our 12 week appointment, they'll have the lab results to go over and see where everything is at. Just passing along the info....
