Guest guest
Hi everyone....I know that you have probably gone through these questions time and time again but because most of you are post-op and so helpful (wink-wink ;-) ), I was hoping to get some opinions about post-op diet....of course I know that everyone's body is different but it is nice to be able to have some helpful hints. I am in the process of buying vitamins, protein supplements etc to have after my surgery so that I won't have to go searching or send my DH out to get stuff. The packet from the surgeons office is too general and sometimes it has the diet to follow for after the rny mixed in..( he does both). I would like to know what worked for everyone else...how long do you have to take protein supps for?.....What kind does everyone like?..... how much protein do you have to get in daily?..... do we have to take chewable vitamins forever?....and if not, for how long?.....Should I buy Viactiv chews for Calcium?.....Will I be able to take the vitamins from vita4life shortly after surgery?.....How long before I can eat regular food?.....Sorry for all these questions but I am confused and hate to bother the office any more....I live 4 hours away and need these things so that I can them with me for a week and have things ready for when I get home.....Thanks so much everyone for being so helpful.......oh, and cross your fingers for me because I haven't gotten insurance approval yet....Is it possible to have the surgery and then have them billed to pay a part of it? My husband said that I am having the surgery on 4-30....approval or not...lol...he just hates seeing me so unhappy and moping around the house....I told him how much it might cost and he said ok....we'll just make payments....lol.....ok, well I will be looking forward to hearing from you guys because I plan on going to GNC on Sunday to pick up some protein powder and protein bars....any good ones? Bobbi-jo impatiently awaiting 4-30 and bothering the heck out of my insurance company.....lol
