I did some research into Lyrica since my neurologist was offering it to me. It is one of the medications that can take a while to build up in the body -- and does require tapering off.

And, one of the drug websites lists the inactive ingredients as cornstarch and talc. Not good while we're on SCD, especially over the long-term. And I'm not thrilled about some of the shell ingredients either. But perhaps there are various forms of the medication, so some don't include these. And it helps to remember that the amounts will be miniscule in each capsule, although there are some possible long-term impacts.

Might be a lesser of two evils decision.

My neurologist said he has many fibromyalgia patients using Lyrica with good results. I decided to wait a while longer before giving Lyrica a try, until my nerve pain worsened significantly.

In addition to learning the subtle signals my digestion provides, now I'm learning to recognize the difference between nerve pain and bone/joint pain, and what the triggers are. Never thought I'd need to know all this stuff [sigh].

Regarding Lyrica, has anyone used this drug? My neurologist gave me two boxes to try for fibromyalgia pain (which I think he believes is really depression, but I can't convince him I'm calm and not depressed, I just hurt) but when I got home and read about it on the internet I was afraid of it, it says once you take it you can't stop cold turkey. Anyone have experience with this? I'm returning to prednisone 5 mg just to be able to move around because I can't take Ibuprophen so if this med really works and isn't too dangerous I would like to try it. What do you think? Ann,
