I just don't think he is all that ready to give us one as well. He did say that the Elemental diet was promising and when I told him that SCD is the same thing he said it couldn't hurt. He thought SCD is just hard for people to adhere to. Hopefully the colonoscopy is such that we can try this and have some success! Others here will have different stories. You do not have to be off meds, with the exception of immune-suppressants like Humira or Remicade in order to be on LDN. Since LDN is an immune-modulator, you do not want to be taking an immune-suppressant with it. Also opiate pain medicines do not work with LDN. And I read at the LDN Yahoo Health Group postings, no more than 10 mg prednisone while on LDN. My husband with CD has a colonoscopy scheduled in October and we have talked to his GI about starting LDN. He has said we could discuss it after we see the results of the colonoscopy and I just want to have my information straight.
